THE big FISH is very pleased to be one of the TOP 3 nominees for the category ‘Small Business of the Year’ in the Pride of Stratford Awards 2013. The Winner will be announced at a Glittering Award Ceremony at the Holiday Inn on 1st february 2013.
The other two nominees are Grants Bakeries and Pilates Place. There are many other categories including Carer of the year, Best outlet, Green Business, Best Team, Arts Organisation and Citizen of the Year to name a few. We look forward to meeting all of the nominees and celebrating the best of Warwickshire. Good Luck to All!
Our Help for Heroes Fund Raising event was a great success. We had special guests Veteran Flight Sergeant Donald Brown who was involved in Bomber Command and Pablo Mason who lead the first squadrons in the Gulf War. Both gentlemen were joined by a surprise visit from Soul Singer Ruby Turner. Stratford TV & The Stratford Observer & TouchFM all visited and supported the event. We made a total collection of £500!!… many thanks to all those who attended and supported this event and charity.

We have invited Bomber Command RAF veteran Flight Sergeant Donald Brown as our guest of honour. Also our mascot Big Blue the Shark will be here to keep kids amused along with a Raffel with amazing prizes including a flight in a plane from Wellesbourne Airfield near Stratford-upon-Avon.
Our prominent location in Stratford-upon-Avon often means that we find ourselves in the thick of it and on Sunday 1st July the Olympic Flame came right past THE big FISH and the flame bearer even gave us a wave…. he was in a bit of a hurry though and could’nt stop for his fish supper!
The first year of the Pride of Stratford Awards 2012 was great for The big Fish. A Top 3 nominee for two categories, Small Business of the Year and Entrepreneur of The Year. Marina was really pleased to scoop 1st place for Entrepreneur of the year for the small business. A beautiful trophy and an amazing event organised by TouchFM and held at The Holiday Inn, Stratford upon Avon on February 17th 2012.
THE big FISH is proud to announce that they have achieved No1 status for the Midlands Region in the National Seafish Independent Fish & Chip Shop of the Year 2012.
The News has been recieved with much celebration and relief as they were up against tough opposition.
It’s a 15 year dream come true for owner Marina Angelides who would love to take it one step further and someday win the overall National title.
The UK is divided into 10 regions including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Midlands region covers areas as far and wide as Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Shropshire. The 10 regional finalists get to go on a study trip to Norway and learn all about the origins of their fish and sustainability.
After and intensive 5 hour inspection THE big FISH passed with ‘frying’ colours and was awarded the 5 star NFFF Quality Award.
The Award covers all aspects of the business from Quality of Product through to premises, health & hygeine, customer service, ethical sourcing and marketing.
Customers entering a premises with this award can rest assured that they will be recieving a top class product, with top class service in a top class environment.
